Dr. Abdullah Abdullah expresses condolences to President Obama and people of the United States over loss of life of US soldiers
Kabul, October 29, 2009

Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Afghan presidential candidate, expressed condolences to US President Barack Obama and the people of the United States over the loss of life of US soldiers and civilians over the past week that resulted from the recent helicopter accident and attacks in southern Afghanistan.

Dr. Abdullah Abdullah paid tribute to the lives of the fallen US soldiers. “These brave soldiers and civilians have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving to bring peace, security and stability in Afghanistan,” noted Dr. Abdullah in a letter addressed to the US President.

Furthermore, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah expressed appreciation for the continued support of the United States to Afghanistan’s stabilization efforts over the past several years and expressed confidence that the “partnership between the peoples of Afghanistan and the United States would result in achieving a peaceful and prosperous Afghanistan.”
