H.E. Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Afghanistan Presidential Candidate, today met with the Ambassadors of the United States, France and the United Kingdom. In separate bilateral meetings with Ambassadors Karl E. Eikenberry, Jean d’ Amecourt and Mark Sedwell, Dr. Abdullah and the respective Ambassadors discussed issues related to Afghanistan’s elections as well as the general situation in the country. The respective Ambassador’s mentioned that the ongoing audit and recount was in the process of being finalized and that an announcement would be made by the Afghan Independent Electoral Commission and the Electoral Complaints Commission during the next few days .H.E. Dr. Abdullah indicated the importance of credible and transparent elections to the political process and the ongoing rebuilding effort in Afghanistan. Dr. Abdullah also conveyed the appreciation of the Afghan people for the international community's continued support for Afghanistan's reconstruction effort.
