Dr. Abdullah Congratulates U.S. President Barack Obama on receiving Nobel Peace Prize

In a personal letter addressed to the President of the United States, H.E. Dr. Abdullah Abdullah expressed his congratulations to President Barack H. Obama for receiving the prestigious Nobel Peace Award. In the letter, Dr. Abdullah praised President Obama’s achievements in eloquently and courageously pursing world peace and advocating a joint effort by all of the international community to confront the common challenges of the 21st century. He further added, “People throughout the world have recognized your genuine ambition and efforts in promoting a world where all citizens can live in peace, opportunity and dignity”.

H.E. Dr. Abdullah also conveyed the appreciation of the Afghan people for the continued support that the United States and international allies have provided for the ongoing rebuilding effort in Afghanistan during the past several years. He also indicated that the Afghan people are looking forward for continued cooperation and partnership with the United States and partners. “We are confident that we will achieve our goals in bringing security, stability and prosperity to Afghanistan and the region”.
