A large number of the people of Kandahar and Kabul came together under the Loya Jirga Tent in Kabul to declare their support of Dr. Abdullah.
In this rally attended by Dr. Abdullah, he gave the promise of a popular and stable government. He added “I will bring about a government that after the next five years the people of Afghanistan will not have a need for the foreign forces.”
He said that Afghanistan needs national solidarity. In his belief, during the current government ethnic discord reached its peak. Dr. Abdullah said repetition of this current government is to go towards darkness and added “people do not have the patience of enduring this failed government any longer.”
Ezzatullah Wassefi another speaker of the rally said “the people have had it with the current government and are waiting for a change.” He explained that Dr. Abdullah has many many popular supporters across the land. Wassefi at the end of his speech asked Dr. Abdullah to prepare the conditions for jobs and employment in the country, and to pay serious attention to security.
